Sami-language Choosehealthcare.fi site opened

The Choosehealthcare.fi website can now also be read in Sami at the address saame.hoitopaikanvalinta.fi. Up to now, the entire content of the website has been available in Finnish, Swedish and English, and now the choice of languages has been extended to Northern Sami. The language can easily be selected from the language menu visible on each page. All content has been translated into Northern Sami, except for the country-specific information and the section aimed at healthcare professionals.

“We are trying to expand our language selection also to other languages spoken in Finland. We also wanted to offer Sami readers information in their own mother tongue. We hope that, as a result of the expanding language selection, as many users of healthcare services as possible will find the website and take advantage of the information it offers,” says Marika Lahtivirta, head of the Contact Point for Cross-Border Healthcare.
